Hyattsville Hotels: Where to Stay in Maryland

Hotels in Hyattsville, MD, with confirmed addresses, amenities and nearby options in College Park. See which old listings we dropped and how to pick.

Hotels in Hyattsville, Maryland, are few, and most sit near the edges of the city. Hyattsville lies just northeast of Washington, D.C., and has two chain hotels, one extended-stay property, and a conference hotel with a Hyattsville address. More options wait a short hop away in College Park, Cheverly, and Greenbelt. This guide lists every Hyattsville hotel we could confirm with at least two sources. We flag the gaps, drop old listings we could not verify, and explain how to choose a base. We do not quote rates because prices change daily.

Choose WoodSpring for a long stay, a work assignment, or a trip where you want to cook. The brand sells rooms by the day or by the week. We found no breakfast service, so plan your own meals.

Where to Stay in Hyattsville When Local Hotels Are Full

Hyattsville has few hotels, so weekends with university or stadium events can fill the list. Nearby towns give you more choice. Hotel Guides and the iExit travel guide both list the properties below. Confirm each address and policy with the hotel before you book.

Hotels in College Park near the University of Maryland

The Hotel at the University of Maryland stands at 7777 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, MD 20740. The phone is 410-277-7777. Hotel Guides lists an indoor pool, an exercise room, four restaurants, free Wi-Fi, and a free shuttle within a three-mile radius. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM.

The Hampton Inn at 9670 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, is listed with phone 301-345-2200 by the University of Maryland Center for Risk and Reliability. We found no second source for its current amenities, so treat the details as unconfirmed.

The iExit guide also lists a Cambria Hotel at 8321 Baltimore Avenue and older budget motels along the same road, including a Days Inn, a Howard Johnson, a Red Roof Inn, and a Super 8. We found only one source for each, so call to confirm the name and status before you book.

Wyndham Garden in Cheverly and Greenbelt hotels

Wyndham Garden Washington DC Area stands at 5811 Annapolis Road, Cheverly, MD 20784. Hotel Guides lists a restaurant and lounge, a free breakfast, an exercise room, a seasonal outdoor pool, and free parking.

Old Hyattsville Listings We Dropped

An earlier version of this guide listed five properties. We kept the Holiday Inn Express and WoodSpring Suites. We dropped the others for these reasons.

The Brigantine on the Bay Hotel appeared as a Potomac waterfront stay near National Harbor. We found no record of a hotel by this name, and National Harbor lies in Oxon Hill, not Hyattsville. We removed the listing.

The Courtyard by Marriott College Park could not be confirmed in our search. A TownePlace Suites by Marriott College Park does appear on Visit Maryland. The old guide called a similar property TownePlace Suites at Riverdale and College Park. We could not confirm the current address, so we did not carry the listing forward. Search for the property on a booking site and read the address before you pay.

The old text also claimed Hyattsville is near Mount Rainier National Park and the National Air and Space Museum. Mount Rainier National Park is in Washington State. A Maryland town called Mount Rainier does exist, but we removed the claim. The Air and Space Museum sits in Washington, D.C., so we do not describe the museum as a Hyattsville feature.

If you plan to ride Metro into Washington, check the walking route from your hotel to a station before you book. We did not confirm walking times or driving times between hotels and stations, so use a map for current distances.

What We Checked and What We Could Not

We checked the Holiday Inn Express against Visit Maryland and Hotel Guides. We checked WoodSpring against Visit Maryland, Hotel Guides, and the WoodSpring brand site. We checked the Marriott against the Marriott hotel page, Hotel Guides, and the University of Maryland Center for Risk and Reliability. We took Cheverly, Greenbelt, and College Park details from Hotel Guides and iExit. We took attractions from a local attractions guide and Wikivoyage.

We could not confirm current rates, official phone numbers for the Holiday Inn Express and WoodSpring local desks, or the status of the older motels on Baltimore Avenue. Phone numbers and policies change. Confirm each detail with the property before you travel.
