How to check any London chauffeur firm in two minutes
This is the useful part, and it applies to every operator you consider, not just this one.
- Ask for a TfL private hire operator licence number. A firm that will not give you the number has answered your question.
- Check it against Transport for London. Free, public and quick.
- Confirm the driver and the vehicle, not just the company. In London the operator, the driver and the vehicle are licensed separately. Private hire cannot be hailed in the street — it must be pre-booked, so a car offering you a ride at the kerb is not operating legally.
- Get the fare in writing before you travel, including waiting time and airport charges.
