The Hampton Inn has gone

Hilton’s own locator returns no properties in Saco at all; the nearest are Kennebunk and Portland. Aggregators still carry the old listing.
The train is the reason to pick Saco
The Amtrak Downeaster stops at the Saco Transportation Center, 138 Main Street, with ten trains a day, five each way, plus event-night services. Portland is about fifteen minutes and Boston a little over two hours.
For a small coastal town that is a strong service, and it is the practical argument for staying in Saco rather than driving to the beach from further out.
Funtown and Splashtown open on different dates
Funtown Splashtown USA, 774 Portland Road, phone 207-284-5139, is the other demand driver, and the two halves do not open together. Funtown opens 23 May 2026, Splashtown opens 20 June 2026, and both close 8 September 2026.
The park itself warns that other websites publish incorrect hours for it, so check its own site before you travel on a specific day.
