Hotels in Brockton, MA: One Listing Is Now Housing

Posted in :

Brockton has real hotel stock, so you do not need to stay in Avon or Randolph. Two things trip people up: one commonly listed hotel is now permanent housing, and the commuter rail line serving the city was renamed in 2025, so the line name in older guides no longer exists.

Where to stay

  • Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Brockton/Easton, 124 Liberty Street, Brockton, MA 02301. Phone 508-583-3600. Despite Easton in the name, it is in Brockton.
  • Garner Hotel Brockton – Boston, 405 Westgate Drive, MA 02301. This was the Holiday Inn Express. IHG rebranded it to its Garner brand and does not publish a direct number, so book through IHG.
  • Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Brockton, 50 Christy’s Drive, MA 02301. Phone 508-559-0099.
  • Super 8 by Wyndham Brockton, 385 Westgate Drive, MA 02301. Phone 508-436-2509.
  • Motel 6 Brockton, 391 Westgate Drive. Listed on the brand site, but the detail page was unavailable when we checked, so we could not confirm the phone number.

Three of those sit together on Westgate Drive just off MA-24, about two miles west of downtown.

One listing that is no longer a hotel

The Rodeway Inn at 1005 Belmont Street has been converted into permanent supportive housing. It no longer appears on Choice Hotels’ Brockton listings, but it is still on the local chamber of commerce hotel page and on several booking sites. One listing even carries a two-generations-old name, Best Western The Carlton House, for the same address. It is not a hotel. Do not book it.

The rail line was renamed

Brockton has three commuter rail stations: Montello, Brockton and Campello, all running to Boston South Station. But the line is no longer called Middleborough/Lakeville. Since South Coast Rail launched on 24 March 2025 it is the Fall River/New Bedford Line. Searching the old name in 2026 gets you nowhere.

What actually drives demand

Campanelli Stadium is the live venue: the Brockton Rox play there and the Frontier League has confirmed a team for a third season in 2026.

The Brockton Fairgrounds is not. The fair has closed, the grandstand has been demolished and the site is going to housing, though an event schedule page still exists online for it.

The guides aim for practical detail and a clear recommendation rather than an undifferentiated list. Where a town has no good option, the guides say so and point to the nearest one that does. Guides are AI drafted. A small number have been checked against official listings, and those say so on the page.
