Guests get free Wi-Fi in rooms and the lobby, a fitness center, meeting rooms, and an on-site restaurant named Lorenzo’s. Self-parking costs nothing and the lot holds 750 cars. Valet parking is not offered.

Pets are welcome. Hilton lists a non-refundable pet fee. Only dogs and cats qualify. Ask the front desk to confirm current pet terms before you arrive.

Hilton places Clay Pit Ponds State Park, Staten Island Mall, and Historic Richmond Town within 4 miles. Newark Liberty International Airport lies about 10 miles away, according to Hilton. Choose this hotel if you drive and want free parking with an on-site restaurant.

Hampton Inn and Suites Staten Island

Hampton Inn and Suites sits next door at 1120 South Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. The phone number is 718-477-1600. A trade listing counts 196 rooms across six floors. A travel article counts 107 rooms. The two figures disagree, so we do not rely on either.

Hilton lists free breakfast and free parking. A meeting-industry listing adds a fitness area, rooms with refrigerators and microwaves, and three meeting rooms. Wi-Fi reaches the meeting spaces.

Pick Hampton Inn if you want a free breakfast and a quiet business park location. Ask about the shuttle, because one listing mentions complimentary transportation and we found no official details.

Fairfield Inn and Suites New York Staten Island

Fairfield Inn and Suites is at 290 Wild Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. Call 718-698-8811. The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce directory and a meeting-industry listing agree on the address and phone number.

The chamber listing mentions free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, plug-in charging panels, a complimentary breakfast, and Bar 290, an on-site restaurant and bar. The same listing mentions a free shuttle to the ferry. The trade listing counts 100 rooms across five floors and says the building opened in 2014 and was renovated in 2018.

Ask the hotel about shuttle times and the days the shuttle runs. We found no schedule. This hotel suits ferry riders who want a short trip into Manhattan.

Country Inn and Suites by Radisson Staten Island

The property at 300 Wild Avenue opened in 2010 as Holiday Inn Express Staten Island West. Expedia and Choice Hotels now list the address as Country Inn and Suites by Radisson. Time Out still carries the older name and the phone number 718-370-8777. We could not confirm the rebrand with the owner. Call before you book and ask for the current name and phone number.

Expedia lists check-in from 3:00 PM to midnight and check-out at 11:00 AM. The same listing mentions a free buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free self-parking, a fitness center, a business center, and a 24-hour front desk. Rooms include a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker.

Time Out describes 95 rooms and a courtesy shuttle to the Staten Island Ferry. We could not confirm the shuttle under the new name, so ask when you call.

Comfort Inn Staten Island

Choice Hotels lists Comfort Inn Staten Island at 310 Wild Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. A travel article describes complimentary coffee, breakfast, and Wi-Fi in a smoke-free building. We found no official amenity page, so treat the list as unconfirmed.

Comfort Inn shares the Wild Avenue block with the Country Inn and Suites. Compare both by phone if you want a simple room near the highway.

Days Inn by Wyndham Staten Island

Days Inn is the Port Richmond option at 35 Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10302. Wyndham lists the phone as 718-616-8088. New York YIMBY covered the building permit filings for the address in 2018.

Wyndham lists free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, a 24-hour fitness center, a business center, an ATM, and a 24-hour front desk. Rooms have a flat-screen TV, a desk, a mini-refrigerator, and a microwave. Wyndham lists the hotel as non-smoking. The check-in time and the pet policy did not load on the page we read, so ask for both.

This hotel sits on the north shore, closer to the Port Richmond neighborhood than to the business parks on the west side.

Staten Island Hotel on Richmond Avenue

The Staten Island Hotel stands at 1415 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. NYC.com lists the phone as 347-614-5583 and a toll-free line at 888-847-4869. NYC.com describes a nine-story hotel after a major renovation. A second listing counts 189 rooms.

NYC.com lists a bistro-style restaurant, a cocktail bar, room service, free parking, free high-speed internet, and ballroom and conference space. The listing gives check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at noon. The minimum check-in age is 21.

NYC.com says pets are allowed in smoking rooms with fees. Call to confirm the rule, because pet policies change. NYC.com places the ferry 6 miles away, and a second listing mentions a free ferry shuttle. We could not confirm shuttle details, so ask the front desk.

Where to Stay in Staten Island: Old Listings We Dropped

The earlier version of this guide named five properties we could not confirm. We removed them. A reader who finds the same names on other sites should know why.

The Staten Island Inn appeared with a Carteret, New Jersey address. Carteret is a separate town across the Arthur Kill, so the hotel does not belong on a Staten Island list. We found no confirmed hotel with this name on the island.

The Staaten, a hotel with an indoor pool, did not appear as a lodging in any hotel directory we searched. We could not verify the pool, the water views, or the room details the old text described.

The Vanderbilt Hotel Suites carried a Manhattan address in the old text. We found no confirmed Stapleton hotel with a restaurant named The Tap Room. We dropped the entry.

The Hotel at South Beach carried a Miami, Florida address. Miami is nowhere near the Greenbelt or Freshkills Park, so we dropped the entry.

We also found a Ramada by Wyndham in one travel article. We could not confirm the property from a second source, so we leave Ramada off the list. Check a booking site if you want to look further.

Hotels in Staten Island Near the Staten Island Ferry

The Staten Island Ferry runs between the St. George Ferry Terminal at 1 Bay Street and the Whitehall Terminal at 4 South Street in Manhattan. The service is free and runs 24 hours a day, every day. Weekday rush hour boats leave every 15 minutes, from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM and from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Weekend boats leave every 30 minutes. The city warns visitors about scammers who sell ferry tickets.

None of the hotels above stands at the terminal. The hotels in this guide sit on the west and north sides of the borough. Fairfield Inn and Suites and the Staten Island Hotel both mention a ferry shuttle, so a ferry trip does not always need a car. Ask about shuttle hours, because a late return could leave you without a ride.

Look for a Staten Island hotel with free parking if you plan to drive. Hilton lists free parking at both South Avenue hotels. Other properties above also list free parking, and you should confirm before you arrive.

Families can compare the free breakfast offers at Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, the Country Inn and Suites, and Days Inn. Ask each hotel about room layouts and the number of beds.

Guests with a late arrival should ask about front desk hours. Days Inn lists a 24-hour front desk, and so does the Country Inn and Suites.

Before you pay, confirm the property name on the building, the cancellation policy, parking, and the total with taxes and fees. Compare the total on two booking sites and with the hotel directly.

What We Checked and What We Could Not

We checked Hilton Garden Inn details against the Hilton site and a trade listing. We checked Hampton Inn against Hilton and a trade listing. We checked Fairfield Inn against the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and a trade listing. We checked the Wild Avenue property against Expedia, Choice Hotels, and Time Out. We checked Days Inn against Wyndham and city permit coverage. We checked the Staten Island Hotel against NYC.com and a second booking listing.

We took ferry details from the Staten Island Ferry site, Snug Harbor details from its site, and Historic Richmond Town details from its site.

We could not confirm current rates, the Wild Avenue rebrand with the owner, shuttle schedules, or pet rules at most hotels. Phone numbers and policies change. Confirm each detail before you travel.
