Staying in Wallsend itself
The Dorset Arms is the only option, and on published facts it is a decent one: free parking, breakfast included in the rate, and a restaurant on site — a combination the chains around it mostly do not match without charging separately.
We are not quoting a room count. Third-party listings variously claim thirteen, seven and one, and the pub’s own site gives no figure. Phone and ask what is available for your dates rather than assuming from a directory.
One property to strike off any older list: Manhattans on High Street West closed at the end of March 2026, with reports it would reopen under a new name and look. Use the Metro, not the car
