Where to Stay for Weymouth, MA: Almost No Hotels in Town
Posted in :
Weymouth has essentially no hotel industry. We checked the Hilton, Choice and Wyndham locators directly and none of them has a property in the town — Choice lists nineteen hotels “near Weymouth” and not one is actually in it. What Weymouth does have is two rail lines and a ferry nearby, which is the real reason to base yourself here.

In Weymouth
Arbor Inn Motor Lodge, 750 Bridge Street, Weymouth, MA 02191. Phone 781-337-8070. An independent motor lodge in North Weymouth, and the one property we could verify as operating in the town itself. Its own website has a typo in the header reading “Weymouth, WA”; the address and phone are Massachusetts.
Where the branded hotels actually are
Four to five miles out, in Rockland and Braintree. Hilton’s nearest are the DoubleTree Boston-Rockland at about 4.3 miles and the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree at about 5.1 miles. If you want a chain hotel, that is where to look.
There is no Route 3 hotel strip here, whatever the aggregators imply, and there is no Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn in Weymouth despite brand-in-Weymouth pages suggesting otherwise.
The transit is the point
Weymouth sits on the MBTA Greenbush commuter rail line with three stations: Weymouth Landing/East Braintree, East Weymouth and South Weymouth. Weymouth Landing is at 121 Commercial Street, Zone 2, with 290 parking spaces at $4 on weekdays and a full high-level platform, though no lift.
The Hingham ferry to Rowes Wharf in Boston is a genuine alternative, with fares from $2.40 to $9.75 one way. Note it leaves from 28 Shipyard Drive in Hingham, not Weymouth.
The MBTA does not publish a Weymouth to Boston journey time on its station pages, so we are not quoting one.
