SIXT ride is a genuine chauffeur service, and it does operate in London, New York and Los Angeles — which makes Sixt unusual among car-hire brands. Hertz, Avis and Europcar all run chauffeur products in other countries but none of them in these three cities.
What you are actually booking
SIXT ride is separate from Sixt car rental. It covers three things: a chauffeur and limousine service, airport transfers, and a taxi/ride-hailing option. The chauffeur product is bookable one-way or by the hour, across more than 150 cities and 700-plus destinations in over 60 countries.
Vehicle classes are Business, Business XL, Business Green, Business Green XL and First. In New York the line-up includes a premium black SUV seating up to six.
How to book
Four steps, on sixt.com/ride or in the SIXT app: enter your ride details, choose the class, book and pay, then track the car in the app. Payment is taken at booking rather than in the vehicle.
Worth knowing
- Because this is a pre-arranged private hire rather than a taxi, it cannot be hailed — it has to be booked ahead.
- The Sixt rental brand and SIXT ride are different products with different booking flows. Searching Sixt’s main rental site will not surface the chauffeur service.
- Hourly booking is the option most people miss, and it is the useful one for a day of meetings rather than a single airport run.
