Arc de Triomphe Tickets: 284 Steps, No Lift

Posted in :

Before you buy: the lift is out of service until further notice, and access to the terrace is by stairs only. That is 284 steps. If that is a problem for anyone in your group, this is the fact that decides it.

Prices change with the season, and with the day

  • High season, 1 April to 30 September: €22.
  • Low season, 1 October to 31 March: €16.
  • Every Wednesday in high season the low-season €16 rate applies. Paying €22 on a summer Wednesday is money left on the counter.

Hours

Open daily, and late. April to September: Wednesday to Monday 10am to 11pm, Tuesday from 11am. October to March: closes 10.30pm instead. Last admission is 45 minutes before closing.

The late opening is the point. Going up at dusk for the view down the Champs-Élysées costs the same as going at noon and is a different experience.

Closed 1 May, 8 May, 14 July and the morning of 11 November. Free for under-18s, EU residents aged 18 to 25, and on the first Sunday of January, February, March, November and December.

Sammie O publishes Germ Trips, a travel guide covering hotels, restaurants, airport transfers and chauffeur services. The guides aim for practical detail and a clear recommendation rather than an undifferentiated list. Where a town has no good option, the guides say so and point to the nearest one that does. Guides are AI drafted. A small number have been checked against official listings, and those say so on the page.
