The mistake people make at the Rijksmuseum is assuming a pass is a ticket. It is not. Timed entry is mandatory for every visitor, and the museum names Museumkaart holders explicitly. Turn up with the card and no reserved start time on a busy Saturday and you can be turned away at the door.
The only people exempt are Rijksmuseum Friends and ICOM or ICOMOS pass holders.
Prices
- Adult: €25. No online-versus-door difference is published, but door sales are “subject to availability”, which on a good day means none.
- Free for 18 and under. They still need a reserved slot.
- The I amsterdam City Card covers admission. So does the Museumkaart. Neither covers the booking step.
Hours
Daily 9am to 5pm, every day of the year, public holidays included. There is no weekly closing day, which makes it one of the few reliable Monday options in Amsterdam. The museum does not publish a last-entry time.
