Prado Tickets: The Free Slot Is the Last Two Hours
The Prado is free every day for the final two hours, but temporary exhibitions are only half price then. Ticket prices, timed entry and the Paseo del Arte pass.
The Prado is free every single day for the last two hours: 6pm to 8pm Monday to Saturday, 5pm to 7pm on Sundays and holidays. Free tickets come from the box office and are capped by capacity, so the queue forms well before the hour.
The catch nobody mentions: during the free window temporary exhibitions are half price, not free. If you came for the headline show, you gain less than you think.
Prices
- Adult €15, covering the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions.
- With audio guide €20. Reduced €7.50 for over-65s and large families.
- Paseo del Arte pass €32.80, covering the Prado, the Reina Sofía and the Thyssen.
Under-18s, students aged 18 to 25, unemployed visitors and several other categories go free at any time, with ID.
