Pergamon Museum Tickets: The Museum Is Shut Until June 2027
Posted in :
Before anything else: the Pergamonmuseum is completely closed. It has been under renovation since 2013 and fully shut since 2023. The North Wing and central building reopen on 4 June 2027 with the Pergamon Altar and a redesigned Museum für Islamische Kunst. The south wing is not part of that reopening.
So anything sold today as a “Pergamon Museum ticket” is for a different building.
What is actually open
Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama, a separate venue showing Pergamon artefacts alongside Yadegar Asisi’s 360-degree panorama of the ancient city. It is a genuine substitute, not a consolation prize, but it is not the altar hall.
- Adult €12, reduced €6. Free for under-18s.
- Combined Museumsinsel + Panorama ticket €24 (€12 reduced), covering the Museum Island venues as well.
- Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Closed Mondays.
- No timed entry. Day tickets sell online up to four weeks ahead, or at the counter.
The pass trap
The three-day Museum Pass Berlin does not cover Das Panorama, even though it covers the rest of Museum Island. Pass holders buy a separate €12 ticket. This catches out almost everybody who assumes the pass is comprehensive.
Individual tickets for the June 2027 reopening are expected to go on sale in December 2026. Source: smb.museum, checked 26 August 2026.
