Hofburg and Sisi Museum Tickets: It Is Two Things, Not Three

The Hofburg ticket is €20 and is still widely advertised as covering three attractions. It covers two. The Silver Collection has been closed since April 2023, and a lot of listings have never been updated.

What you actually get

  • The Sisi Museum — Empress Elisabeth’s possessions, and a decent attempt at separating the woman from the film-industry version of her.
  • The Imperial Apartments — the rooms Franz Joseph and Elisabeth actually used.

That is the whole visit. Budget around 90 minutes, not the half-day the three-attraction framing implies.

The Imperial Treasury is a separate ticket

The crown jewels, the Holy Lance and the Habsburg regalia are in the Kaiserliche Schatzkammer, in the same palace complex but behind a different door and a different ticket — €16 online. Since 1 April 2026 the Treasury runs mandatory timed slots, so you can no longer decide on the day that you have an hour spare and wander in. Book it when you book the Hofburg.

Of the two, the Treasury is the stronger visit if you only have time for one. The Hofburg apartments are handsome rooms; the Treasury has objects nothing else in Europe can match.
