The reason to go to the Guggenheim is Frank Lloyd Wright’s spiral ramp. Check it is open before you buy. The museum closes the rotunda periodically to install exhibitions, and when it does it cuts the admission price — which is a fair deal, but only if you know why the ticket got cheaper.
Standard admission is $30, or $19 for students, seniors and visitors with disabilities. During ramp closures it has run at $16 and $12. Under-12s are always free.
Pay what you wish
Tuesdays and Sundays, 4pm to 5.30pm. The suggested contribution is $10 and the minimum is $1. Timed tickets are required for these slots, so it is not a walk-up. Paying full price on a Tuesday afternoon is money wasted.
