Orlando Airport to Disney, Universal and International Drive: What Each Option Costs

Disney’s Magical Express ended on 31 December 2021 and nothing free replaced it. A bus from Orlando airport to Disney Springs costs 2 dollars and takes 56 minutes. A shared shuttle to a Disney resort costs 16 dollars a person. A taxi costs 52 to 68. This page sets out what every option costs, checked against Orlando International Airport, LYNX, Brightline and Mears in September 2026.

Those are the airport’s own published approximate fares. Note there is no Universal line on that table. Uber’s own average for the airport to Universal is 40 dollars over 27 minutes and 19 miles.
Three things guides still get wrong
- Disney’s Magical Express is gone. The last day of service was 31 December 2021. There is no free resort coach for Disney hotel guests and has not been for over four years.
- Sunshine Flyer no longer exists. It merged into Mears Connect on 1 August 2023. There is one operator, not two.
- LYNX route 111 was discontinued. It was replaced by Link 311 in April 2024. Route 111 does not appear in the current route list.
The bus that actually reaches the parks
Link 311 is the route a visitor wants. It costs 2 dollars and runs from MCO Terminal A to Disney Springs, calling at the Sand Lake Road SunRail station, Florida Mall, Universal Boulevard at Destination Parkway, International Drive at Destination Parkway by the Convention Center, and the Destination Parkway transfer point.
It runs every 30 minutes, from 5am to 11pm, seven days a week including holidays. Sand Lake Road is about 13 minutes out, Florida Mall about 24, Disney Springs about 56.
The airport’s fare table says 4 dollars to the Disney resorts. That is two fares, because Link 311 reaches Disney Springs and getting to an actual resort means transferring onto Disney’s own internal buses.
The catch is where the bus stops at the airport. There is one local bus stop, on the A side, Ground Transportation on Level 1, at commercial lane spaces A38 to A41. There is no local bus at Terminal C.

The all day pass runs from 4am on the day of issue until 3am the following day. Transfers are free on request and valid 90 minutes.
Two other routes serve the airport. Link 11 runs to LYNX Central Station downtown in 47 minutes. Link 42 runs to International Drive, but its published journey time is contradictory, given as 75 minutes on one LYNX document and around 35 to 40 on another, so we will not commit to a figure.
Brightline, and what it does not do
Brightline is the big change at this airport, and it is worth being precise about what it is for.
It goes south. West Palm Beach in about two hours, Miami in about three and a half. It does not serve downtown Orlando, International Drive, Universal or Disney. The planned Disney Springs station was cancelled in June 2022.
The station is the Orlando International Airport Intermodal Terminal at 10705 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard. It is next to Terminal C, not inside it, across a pedestrian bridge. From Terminals A and B you take the Terminal Link automated train, which runs 24 hours between Terminal B and the station. From Terminal C it is about 1,200 feet of walking through Parking Garage C.
The station opens at 4:30am and there are 16 daily round trips, roughly hourly.
Fares are dynamic, so there is no fixed published price. The advertised return fares with seven days notice start at 39 dollars on SMART Saver, 59 on SMART and 89 on PREMIUM. Peak and off peak pricing was introduced in October 2025. Any single number a guide prints is a snapshot.
SunRail is not the answer
SunRail does not reach the airport. The nearest station is Sand Lake Road and you connect by LYNX bus.
More to the point, it runs Monday to Friday only, from 5:30am to 9:30pm, on a north to south line through DeBary and Poinciana. It does not serve International Drive, Universal or Walt Disney World. For a visitor it is close to useless.
Mears Connect
This is what replaced Magical Express. It is a shared van, not a free coach.
One way is 16 dollars for ages 10 and over and 13 for ages 3 to 9, with under 3s free. A 3 percent fuel surcharge has been added to all reservations since 30 March 2026.
Expect 30 to 60 minutes of travel, a wait of 1 to 20 minutes, and multiple stops on a shared vehicle. Vehicles leave for each resort area every 20 to 30 minutes. Check in at Terminal B Level 1 Ground Transportation, bus slots B42 to B48, or at Terminal C Level 1.
Cancelling inside 24 hours is charged in full.
Third party sites quote round trip and express prices that do not reconcile with the operator’s own one way figure plus the surcharge, so book from the operator and treat other numbers with caution.
Taxis
The airport is explicit. Flat rate fees are not authorised, so the meter runs and the actual fare may exceed the approximate ranges in the table above.
Four companies are authorised: Diamond Cab, Quick Cab, Town and Country Transport and Mears Taxi. They take up to nine passengers at the same rate regardless of party size.
Pickup is Terminal A Ground Transportation Level 1 at spaces A22 to A25, Terminal B Level 1 at spaces B30 to B34, and Terminal C on the arrivals curb at Level 6.
We could not verify the flag drop and per mile rate against an official source. The airport does not publish the meter schedule, and the third party citation we found refers to Orange County code while the airport cites the City of Orlando ordinance. Those are different regulators.
Uber and Lyft
Uber, Lyft, Wingz and KreweCar are all permitted. Where you meet them depends on the terminal, and Terminal C is the odd one out.
- Terminals A and B, arrivals curb on Level 2, 24 hours. Or the departures curb on Level 3 between 9pm and 2am.
- Terminal C, arrivals curb on Level 6.
Uber publishes an average of 38 dollars to downtown Orlando over 23 minutes and 16 miles, and 40 dollars to Universal over 27 minutes and 19 miles. It has no published estimate for Walt Disney World.
The airport does not publish the rideshare pickup fee. Reporting from October 2023 gives 7 dollars a pickup, a third party gives 5.80. Taxis pay 4 dollars for the same pickup, and Uber has been in a continuing dispute with the aviation authority about that gap.
Renting a car, and the toll trap
Rental at MCO is unusually easy. The counters are in garages attached to the terminals, so there is no bus and no off site facility. Terminals A and B have Alamo, Enterprise and National on level R1 and Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and Thrifty on R2, with Sixt on P1. Terminal C uses Parking C1 and C2. A consolidated facility is projected for 2032.
Two costs to budget for.
The Customer Facility Charge is 9 dollars a day. It rose from 6 on 1 November 2024, a 50 percent increase that ties Orlando with Los Angeles for the highest among major US airports. Concession recovery, energy recovery, Florida surcharge, vehicle licence and waste tyre fees are itemised on top.
And the tolls. Every route from the airport toward the attractions uses State Road 528 or State Road 417, both all electronic with no cash accepted at any plaza. Rental cars default to Pay By Plate, which is billed at double the electronic rate. Sort your toll option at the counter.
Why Orlando is so car dependent
This is not an opinion, it follows from the facts above.
- No rail reaches any theme park. Brightline serves only the airport and goes south. SunRail serves none of the attraction corridors and runs weekdays only.
- Public transit to the parks is a single 2 dollar bus every 30 minutes that terminates at Disney Springs, not at the resorts or the gates.
- Disney and Universal run internal transport for their own on site guests only, and neither has run a free airport transfer since December 2021.
- The airport, International Drive, Universal, Disney and Kissimmee are 15 to 25 miles apart in different directions.
The I-4 problem
The INRIX 2026 traffic scorecard put Orlando 37th of 300 US metros, with drivers losing 32 hours a year to congestion at a cost of 589 dollars each, both up on the previous year.
The specific figure that matters here is that the I-4 stretch from the eastbound Anderson Expressway to World Drive ranked as the fourth busiest corridor in the country. That is exactly the segment linking downtown Orlando, International Drive, Universal and Walt Disney World. A state overhaul with added express lanes is targeting completion in 2031.
One thing in your favour. The airport is not on I-4. Arrivals reach it only via State Road 528 or 417, so a trip from the airport to Disney via 417 bypasses most of it. Airport to downtown or airport to Universal is more exposed.

Brightline one way fares to any station. Pricing is dynamic with no published table.
