Perlan Tickets: There Is No View-Only Ticket
Perlan sells one all-access ticket at 7,090 ISK online. The observation deck is included and explicitly cannot be purchased separately.
Older guides describe paying a few hundred krónur just to go up for the view. That option no longer exists. Perlan’s own wording: access to the observation deck is included with all tickets and cannot be purchased separately.
One ticket, everything
- Adults 7,090 ISK online, 7,490 at the door.
- Ages 5–12: 5,090 online, 5,390 at the door. Under-5s free.
Booking is not mandatory, but walking up costs 400 krónur more per adult for no benefit. Last admission is 90 minutes before closing.
What is inside
The ice cave — a hundred metres of tunnel built from over 350 tonnes of real snow hauled from the Bláfjöll mountains, the first indoor one in the world. The Áróra planetarium northern lights show in a 360-degree dome. Into the Volcano, a descent two kilometres into the earth. The Volcano Show with drone footage of the 2021 Geldingadalir eruption. Plus Forces of Nature, the full-scale Látrabjarg seabird cliff, the virtual ocean, and the glacier and water exhibitions.
Into the Volcano and the Volcano Show are recent additions that pre-2024 guides do not mention, and Perlan now bundles everything rather than selling exhibition add-ons. Planetarium show times and languages are not published.
The most accessible attraction in Reykjavík
Free parking outside with disabled bays at the door, two lifts serving every floor, and the restaurant, ice cave and planetarium all wheelchair accessible — including easy access to the observation deck. If mobility is a consideration, this is the one that works.
Exhibitions open 09:00–21:00 with no published seasonal variation.
One note on the Reykjavík City Card: Perlan is a discount partner, not a free-entry inclusion. The card covers 17 museums, eight municipal swimming pools — not the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon, neither of which is included at any tier — the Strætó buses and the Viðey ferry, at 6,100 to 10,500 ISK. It also only starts when you hand-write the time on the back, so it does not tick down while you sleep.
