Wieliczka prices by guide language, not by route. The Tourist Route and the Miners’ Route cost exactly the same as each other — and an English-language ticket costs about 40 PLN more than the Polish one for the identical tour.
2026 prices, either route
- Polish guide — 103 PLN low season, 119 PLN high season (1 May to 30 September).
- Foreign-language guide — 143 PLN low season, 159 PLN high season.
- Reduced rates 82 to 131 PLN on the same pattern. No euro prices are published.
The Underground Museum is already included
It is not a third route. The Underground Exposition of the Cracow Saltworks Museum comes with the Tourist Route ticket at no extra charge — you simply decide at the end whether to walk through it. (The Saltworks Museum also has a separate above-ground castle site, which is a different ticket entirely.)
The photo permit is gone
There is no photography fee and no permit for personal use. Guides still quoting a camera charge are years out of date. Commercial shoots still need consent.
Which route
- Tourist Route — Daniłowicz Shaft. 3.5 km, down to 135 m, two to three hours, around 800 steps with 380 of them in the entrance descent. Lift back up. All ages.
- Miners’ Route — Regis Shaft. 1.9 km, overalls and helmet, hands-on tasks, colder at 14–16°C. Minimum age 10.
Touring is always with a guide — leaving the group is strictly forbidden. Booking is not mandatory, but foreign-language departures are scheduled rather than continuous, so in summer it matters. Online sales open 90 days ahead and close an hour before the tour. Hand luggage is capped at 35 × 20 × 20 cm. Closed 1 January, Easter Sunday, 1 November and 24–25 December.
Wheelchair access exists on part of the route but is tightly conditioned: an attendant is required, the chair must be under 59 cm wide, and accessible tours run only in Polish or English and only in the first or last slot of the day, arranged in advance.
