Tivoli Gardens Tickets: Entry Does Not Include a Single Ride
A Tivoli entrance ticket buys the gardens and nothing else. Rides need a separate Ride Pass, and the Copenhagen Card covers entry only.

Tivoli sells two completely separate things and a lot of families discover that at the gate of the first rollercoaster.
Entry, rides, or both
- Entrance ticket — the gardens. The lights, the lake, the gardens, the restaurants. No rides.
- Ride Pass — all the rides, and in Tivoli’s own words it “does not include entry to the Gardens”. On its own it gets you nowhere.
- Entrance + Ride Pass package — both, cheaper than buying them apart. This is what most visitors actually want.
Even the Ride Pass has holes: it does not cover Villa Vendetta or the Haunted House during Halloween.
There is no fixed price
Tivoli prices by date and sometimes by entry time, and publishes no headline figure at all — not even a “from” price. The number only appears once you pick a date in the calendar. Any single kroner figure you see quoted elsewhere is a snapshot of one day or a reseller’s markup. Tivoli’s own advice is to check the calendar for the cheapest date.
It is closed more than you would guess
Tivoli opens 257 days a year, in seasons. For 2026: summer 7 April to 20 September, Halloween 2 October to 1 November, Christmas 13 November to 3 January 2027. There is an Easter season but its 2026 dates are not published. The long winter gap from early January to April is when most first-time visitors assume it is open.
The Copenhagen Card catch
The card covers entrance only, one visit with same-day re-entry. Rides are not included, though cardholders can buy a discounted Ride Pass. The Tivoli annual pass, from 449 DKK, has the same shape: free entry all season, rides still extra, 50 DKK off each Ride Pass.
