Reverse of the usual advice: booking ahead at Pitti and Boboli costs €3 more, not less. Neither site normally needs a reservation, so unless you want the certainty, buy on the day.
| Ticket | On the day | Booked ahead |
|---|---|---|
| Pitti Palace, all collections | €16 | €19 |
| Boboli Gardens alone | €10 | €13 |
| Pitti + Boboli combined | €22 | €25 |
Reduced is €3 for EU citizens aged 18 to 25. Under-18s of any nationality free. There is a new Boboli plus Bardini Gardens ticket at €15, running since March 2026, and a five-day PassePartout with the Uffizi at €40.
Yes, Boboli can be visited on its own — it has four entrances, including Porta Romana and Annalena on Via Romana, not just the one through the palace.
They close on different Mondays
This is the one that strands people. Pitti Palace closes every Monday. Boboli closes only the first and last Monday of the month.
So on a mid-month Monday the gardens are open and the palace is not — and the €22 combined ticket is wasted money that day. Buy the €10 Boboli ticket instead.
Going the other way: the combined ticket is only €6 more than Pitti alone, so if there is any chance you will walk the gardens, take it.
Hours
Pitti: Tuesday to Sunday 8.15am to 6.30pm, ticket office closes an hour earlier. Boboli’s closing time swings by nearly three hours across the year — 7.10pm in June, July and August, down to 4.30pm in midwinter. Last admission an hour before.
These are state museums, so the free first Sunday of the month applies to everyone, unlike at Palazzo Vecchio.
Two current closures to plan around: the Room of the Iliad is shut until 25 October 2026, and the Treasury of the Grand Dukes mezzanine until further notice.
