Prague Astronomical Clock Tickets: The Show Is Free, the Tower Is Not
Watching the Prague astronomical clock strike costs nothing. The Old Town Hall tower is 350 CZK, the lift is another 100, and the first hour is half price.

The clock show is free
The apostles parade on the hour and you watch it from the square. There is no ticket, no reserved area, no skip-the-line product that gets you a better view than standing there does. Anyone selling you access to the show is selling you the pavement.
Fair warning: it is a short, quiet mechanical display and the crowd is enormous. The building it is attached to is the better part of the visit.
What the tower costs
- Tower and building — 350 CZK.
- The lift — 100 CZK extra. It is a paid add-on, not part of the ticket. There is a ramped walkway if you would rather not pay it.
- First hour after opening — 50% off. Half price on the tower, straightforward, and the tower is empty at that hour.
If you are prepared to be at the Old Town Square when it opens, you get the best light, no queue and half the price in one decision. It is the clearest value in central Prague.
The view from the top
