Prague Castle Tickets: Circuits A and B Are Gone
Prague Castle replaced Circuits A and B with a single Main circuit at 450 CZK, valid two days. The grounds themselves are free from 6am to 10pm.

If you are working from an older guide, ignore everything it says about choosing between Circuit A and Circuit B. Those are gone. Prague Castle now sells one Main circuit at 450 CZK, and that ticket is valid for two days.
What the Main circuit covers
- St Vitus Cathedral — beyond the free vestibule, into the nave and the Mucha window.
- The Old Royal Palace, including Vladislav Hall.
- St George’s Basilica, the oldest surviving church in the complex.
- Golden Lane, the row of small houses along the castle wall.
The two-day validity is the useful part and almost nobody uses it. The castle is too big for one visit done properly. Do the cathedral and palace on the first afternoon, come back the next morning for Golden Lane before the coach groups arrive.
The grounds are free
The castle complex is open 6am to 10pm and walking through the courtyards costs nothing. So does standing in the vestibule of St Vitus and looking down the nave, which is enough for some people. The ticket buys you the interiors, not the hill.
Security screening ended
The blanket airport-style screening at every gate stopped in April 2023. Older advice telling you to allow 40 minutes for a security queue is out of date — walking in is now genuinely just walking in. Spot checks still happen.
