Valencia Cathedral Tickets: The Chalice Is In, the Tower Is Not
The 12 euro Valencia Cathedral ticket includes the Holy Chalice and an audioguide. The Miguelete tower is a separate 3 euro ticket at its own door.
Two assumptions, both wrong, and they cancel each other out badly. People think the Holy Chalice needs an extra ticket, and that the bell tower is included. It is the other way round.
The chalice is included
€12 covers the cathedral and the cathedral museum, with an audio guide in ten languages included, and the Holy Chapel with the Santo Cáliz is part of the standard route. Reduced €6 for over-65s, students, the unemployed and ages 8–17. Family ticket €22. Under-8s free. Residents of the archdiocese pay €1.
The Miguelete is a separate ticket at a separate door
€3, €2 reduced, bought at the foot of the tower on Plaça de la Reina — not at the cathedral entrance, and not bundled with the €12. It is 207 steps up a narrow spiral with no lift, and the viewing platform holds fifty people at a time.
One thing we cannot resolve: the cathedral’s two official sites disagree about whether the Miguelete closes in winter. One presents its hours under a March-to-November heading; the other gives daily 10:00–18:45 with no seasonal break. If you are visiting between December and February, phone first.
Free entry, for worship
Weekdays 07:30–10:00 and 18:30–20:30, Sundays 07:30–13:30 and 17:30–20:30. That is access to pray — no museum, no audio guide, no cultural route.
Cultural visiting runs Monday to Saturday 10:30–18:30, last entry 17:30, and Sundays from 14:00. Closed for the cultural visit on 1 and 6 January, 19 March, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, 9 October, 8 December and 25 December.
Note the price moved from €9 to €12 while the reduced rate stayed at €6, so any guide quoting nine euros is out of date. The cathedral and museum are ground-level; the tower is not accessible.
