The Museu Picasso gives away a lot of free entry. It also refuses you at the door if you have not booked it. Every free slot requires a reservation — turning up in a free window without one does not work.
When it is free
- Summer: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7pm to 9pm, under the museum’s “Picasso Convida” scheme. Free guided tours in Catalan included.
- Winter (29 September to 29 March): Thursdays 4pm to 7pm.
- First Sunday of every month, all day.
- Also 12 February, 17 May and 24 September.
This is a change worth noting: the old “Thursday afternoon” slot has been widened into three summer evenings.
Prices
- General: €14 online, €15 at the ticket office. That €1 is a walk-up penalty, not a booking fee.
- Reduced €7.50 — ages 18 to 25, students, over-65s, unemployed, Barcelona library cardholders.
- Under-18s free. Bicing cardholders 25% off.
- Covered by Articket BCN, €38 for six museums over twelve months.
Hours
Closed every Monday. Summer: Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday 9am to 8pm; Thursday to Saturday 9am to 9pm. Winter: Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 7pm. The ticket office shuts 30 minutes before the museum. Closed 1 January, 1 May, 24 June and 25 December.
One housekeeping note: the museum moved to museupicassobcn.cat. The old address no longer resolves properly, so update any bookmark.
