“Visiting Christiansborg” is not one thing. It is four separately ticketed venues in and under the same palace, plus a tower run by somebody else entirely.
Buy the combined ticket
- Combined ticket — 215 DKK online, 225 at the door. All four venues.
- Royal Reception Rooms alone 140 / 150. The Ruins, the Royal Stables and the Royal Kitchen 75 / 85 each.
- Under-18s free, but still need a ticket issued.
The arithmetic is stark. All four bought individually at the door is 405 DKK. The combined ticket is 225. Even doing just the Reception Rooms and one other venue separately costs more than the full combination. If you are seeing more than one thing, the combined ticket is simply the correct purchase.
The Stables window
Everything else runs 10:00–17:00. The Royal Stables open 13:30 to 16:00 only — two and a half hours — and that applies to Copenhagen Card holders too. Arriving in the morning with a combined ticket and assuming a uniform timetable is the single most common mistake here. The horses are also away from 8 to 13 August.
The Palace Chapel opens Sundays only, extending to daily through July and August. Main season is 30 March to 1 November 2026.
It can close without warning
Christiansborg is a working palace and the seat of the Danish parliament. The operator warns that venues may close without prior announcement for state or royal events, and the Reception Rooms are the most exposed. Check on the day.
The Copenhagen Card covers all four venues. Access is good by palace standards: wheelchairs and walking frames to borrow, accessible toilets, disabled parking at Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads. Note the site moved to denkongeligesamling.dk — old kongeligeslotte.dk links are dead.
