Belfast Harbor Inn stands at 91 Searsport Avenue, Belfast, ME 04915. Call 207-338-2740. Visit Maine describes seven acres overlooking the bay and the historic port of Belfast. The inn is also listed on Expedia.

Lark Independent, the hotel group behind the property, lists check-in from 3 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m. The group describes the location as about 5 minutes from downtown Belfast. Rooms come in nine categories, including ocean view rooms with a king bed or two queen beds, balcony rooms and accessible rooms.

Visit Maine lists an outdoor heated pool, wireless internet, air conditioning, cable television and guest laundry. The same listing mentions a bay view restaurant called Nautilus Seafood and Grill. The Lark Independent page names no on site restaurant. Ask the front desk whether a restaurant is open during your stay.

Choose this inn if you want bay views and a short drive to the harbor.

Fireside Inn and Suites Belfast

Fireside Inn and Suites is a larger option on the same road, at 159 Searsport Avenue, Belfast, ME 04915. Call 207-338-2090. The hotel site lists 83 guest rooms with views of Penobscot Bay and private patios or decks. Room types include standard rooms, suites, fireplace rooms and cottage houses.

The site lists an indoor heated mineral pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna and private rocky beach access. The hotel runs year round, and the site says the pool, hot tub and sauna close for maintenance during a short window in late January. Guest reviews describe the hotel as dog friendly, but we found no official pet policy. Call and ask before you bring a dog.

The site also lists two cottages for weekly rentals. We could not confirm check-in and check-out times. Ask when you book.

Choose Fireside if you want an indoor pool and a wide choice of room types.

Yankee Clipper Motel

The Yankee Clipper Motel works as a motels in Belfast Maine option for travelers who want a simple room. The motel stands at 50 Searsport Avenue, Belfast, ME 04915. Call 207-338-2353.

Colonial Gables Oceanfront Village

Colonial Gables sits at 7 Eagle Avenue, Belfast, ME 04915. Call 800-937-6246. The official site describes a village of motel rooms with ocean views, oceanview cottages and oceanfront cottages on 10 acres overlooking Penobscot Bay. Expedia also lists the property.

The site promises free Wi-Fi, free parking, private beach access, gardens and oceanfront decks or porches. Pet friendly accommodations are available. The site mentions year round operation, but gives no check-in times. Ask about pet fees, cottage minimum stays and seasonal availability.

Choose Colonial Gables if you want a cottage, a beach and room to spread out.

Two historic inns serve travelers who want a quieter stay in town. Both sit in the historic district near Penobscot Bay. Both offer breakfast.

The Jeweled Turret Inn

The Jeweled Turret Inn stands at 40 Pearl Street, Belfast, ME 04915. Call 207-338-2304. The official site says the Victorian home dates to about 1898 and holds a landmark listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Visit Maine confirms the historic status.

The inn has seven guest rooms plus a Carriage House Suite. Rooms carry gemstone names, such as Ruby, Emerald, Opal and Sapphire. Each room has a private bath, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. The inn lists four fireplaces and two verandas. A three course breakfast comes with your stay, in two seatings at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Expedia lists check-in from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with no after hours check-in, and check-out at 11 a.m. The same listing says the inn does not accept pets, does not accept children aged 9 and younger, and has no elevator. The entrance has 7 steps. Expedia also says the inn has no front desk, so a host greets you on arrival. Confirm these policies by phone, because we found them on a booking listing and not on the official page.

The official site says the inn operates year round. Visit Maine lists seasonal hours. Confirm the dates for your trip.

Choose the Jeweled Turret for a romantic stay and a long breakfast.

Alden House Inn

The Alden House Inn stands at 63 Church Street, Belfast, ME 04915. The inn dates to 1840, when Hiram O. Alden built the house. The inn site describes Greek Revival architecture, a Victorian era porch and gardens. Visit Maine lists the same year and builder.

The inn serves a complimentary continental breakfast with coffee, baked goods, yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. Visit Maine lists private bathrooms and internet access.

The season is short. The inn site says the season runs from July through September, from Thursday through Monday, with a two day minimum stay. The site says the inn closed after the 2026 season and will reopen reservations in January for 2027. Do not expect a room in other months.

We found two different phone numbers in listings. The inn site lists 207-218-1110, so use the number on the official site and confirm before you travel.

Choose the Alden House for a summer weekend in a historic house near Main Street.

Other Belfast Lodging We Could Not Confirm

A travel guide lists four more names in Belfast. These are Penobscot Bay Inn at 192 Northport Avenue, Belfast Bay Inn at 72 Main Street, The Gull Motel at 196 Searsport Avenue and Belfast Breeze Inn at 192 Northport Avenue. The guide gives no descriptions. We found no second source and no official page we could open, so we cannot confirm any of the four are open. We print no phone numbers for them. Search each name and call before you plan around one.

Older travel pages also list a Homeport Inn in Belfast. We found no current source, so we dropped the listing. Do not book a property you cannot reach by phone.

Motels in Belfast Maine and Other Budget Options

Belfast has few motels. The Yankee Clipper Motel is the one motel we could confirm with two sources. The Gull Motel may serve as a second option, but we could not verify the property.

Visit Maine lists nearby towns such as Searsport, Rockland and Lincolnville for more lodging. Expedia also lists properties in those towns. Check a map for current driving times and book early in summer.

Visit Maine calls Belfast a lively hub of art, hiking, shopping and food. The downtown has what Visit Maine calls Maine’s best intact brick commercial district. The Harbor Walk runs 0.8 miles along the shoreline with parks and gardens. The Belfast Rail Trail runs 2.3 miles on graveled path along the river. The Hills to Sea Trail runs 47 miles inland to Unity. Rowing, sailing and harbor tours are also available.

Food leans toward farm to table. Visit Maine lists two farmers markets, including the United Farmers Market of Maine, which opens on Saturdays indoors. A travel guide lists Bay Taxi in Swanville as the closest taxi service. Confirm the service before you rely on a ride.

Downtown Belfast is compact and walkable. If you stay on Searsport Avenue, plan to drive or take a taxi to Main Street. If you stay on Pearl Street or Church Street, you stay close to downtown.
