Nymphenburg Tickets: The Park Palaces Shut for Six Months

Nymphenburg’s four park palaces, including the Amalienburg, close from 16 October to 31 March. That is why the winter combination ticket is cheaper.

The best thing on the Nymphenburg estate is the Amalienburg, a rococo hunting lodge with a mirrored hall that outshines the palace itself. From 16 October to 31 March it is locked, along with the Badenburg, the Pagodenburg and the Magdalenenklause. All four. Six months.

Which is why there are two combination tickets

  • Summer, 1 April to 15 October — €20. Palace, Marstallmuseum with the porcelain collection, and all four park palaces.
  • Winter, 16 October to 31 March — €16. The same minus the park palaces, because they are shut.
  • Palace alone €10, Marstallmuseum €8, the four park palaces together €6.

The palace runs on time slots, generously

Only the palace itself is slotted, and it is one of the more civilised systems in Europe: you may enter up to an hour after your stated time, and once inside there is no limit on how long you stay. Online booking closes the day before, with tickets held back for the on-site office. The Marstallmuseum and the park buildings need no slot at all.

Two things closed in 2026

  • The Lacquer Cabinet is under restoration until autumn 2026.
  • The Great Parterre fountain is out of service for the whole of 2026 while the water wheels are repaired, and the fountains in front of the palace are off until further notice.

The park itself is free and open all year, 06:00 to somewhere between 18:00 and 21:30 depending on the season. The Bavarian Palace Department’s annual and 14-day tickets cover Nymphenburg.
