Skansen Tickets: Children Are Free, but You Must Book Their Ticket
Skansen made under-16s free in October 2025 — but the free child ticket must be booked at the same time as the adult one. The aquarium is extra.

Skansen changed its pricing in October 2025 and most guides have not caught up. Children 0 to 15 now go free.
With one condition that catches families
The free child ticket must be booked at the same time as the adult ticket. Turning up with children and no ticket for them is a documented failure mode. Book them even though they cost nothing.
Adult prices
- 240 SEK online in low season, 305 SEK online in high season.
- Higher at the gate — Skansen confirms a premium but does not publish the amount.
- Annual pass 445 SEK.
Skansen deliberately publishes no fixed price table, saying only that it varies by season and is lowest online. The figures above come from the foundation’s own announcement.
The aquarium is not included
This is the thing families most expect to walk into. Skansen Aquarium is a separate ticket bought on site. So are the Galejan fairground rides. What is included: the Baltic Sea Science Center and Lill-Skansen, the children’s zoo.
Open every day of the year
No closing days at all. June to August 10:00–18:00; September 10:00–17:00; from late September weekdays 10:00–15:00 and weekends to 16:00. Christmas market hours vary.
Cash free at entrances and shops, though a few market traders may take it. Wheelchair-accessible entrances at three gates, loaner wheelchairs with a 200 SEK deposit, pushchair hire 75 SEK. The site is a steep hill, so the funicular matters more than it looks.
