Temple of Olympian Zeus Tickets: Closes at 3pm All Winter
The Olympieion in Athens now costs 20 euros and closes at 15:00 from November to March — earlier than the Acropolis or the Agora on the same day.

The Olympieion has had the sharpest price rise of any Athens site and the least forgiving winter timetable. Both are worth knowing before you build a day around it.
It shuts at 15:00 from November to March
Five hours earlier than in summer, and earlier than both the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora on the same winter day. If you are doing the classic walk down from the Acropolis, the Olympieion is the one that will be locked when you get there. Do it first, not last.
Summer runs 08:00 to 20:00, tapering through September and October to an 18:00 close before the winter schedule starts on 1 November.
Price, and an honest word about value
€20 adult, €10 reduced, flat year-round. It was €8, with a €4 winter rate. The site is no longer covered by any combined ticket, because the Athens combined ticket has been abolished.
What twenty euros buys is fifteen standing columns in an open field and roughly twenty minutes. It is a genuinely extraordinary ruin — the columns are enormous and it takes standing under one to feel it — but at the new price it is the weakest value of the four major Athens tickets, and a good deal of it is visible for nothing from the railings on Vasilissis Olgas and from the walk up to the Acropolis. We would rather say that than sell you a queue.
Free days
6 March, 18 April, 18 May, the last weekend of September, 28 October, and the first and third Sunday of each month from November to March. On those dates the calculation changes completely. Closed 1 January, 25 March, 1 May, Easter Sunday and 25–26 December.
