The Vasa is the best-documented ticket in Stockholm, and its most useful published fact is one nobody repeats: “Pre-purchased tickets do not give priority in queue.” Buying ahead buys you the transaction and nothing else.
Price jumps on 1 May
- 195 SEK from January to April and October to December.
- 240 SEK from 1 May to 30 September.
- Everyone aged 0 to 18 is free. There is no senior discount — over-65s pay the adult rate.
- Combined with the Vrak Museum of Wrecks next door, 359 SEK.
No euro price is published.
The guided tour is included
A 25-minute guided tour of the ship comes with admission, and the audio guide is a free download in 19 languages. Neither is an upsell. Take the tour — a 400-year-old warship that sank on its maiden voyage after 1,300 metres needs someone to explain why.
Hours
June to August 08:30–18:00. September to May 10:00–17:00, with Wednesdays until 20:00 — the quietest slot of the week. Closed 24 and 25 December; 31 December is a short day to 15:00.
Cash is not accepted
The museum is explicitly cash free — cards only. That is true across most of Stockholm; Swish, the local payment app, is domestic-only and no use to visitors. Bring a card that works abroad.
Lifts serve all floors, there are two loaner wheelchairs at the information desk, accessible parking at the entrance and a hearing loop in the film auditorium.
