Alhambra Tickets: The Time Slot Only Governs the Nasrid Palaces

Almost everything written about Alhambra tickets is either out of date or subtly wrong about the one rule that actually catches people.

The slot is for the Nasrid Palaces only

Your ticket names one half-hour window, and 300 people are admitted in each. It governs the Nasrid Palaces and nothing else. You can enter the complex earlier, walk the Alcazaba and the Generalife, and stay after.

But if you are not at the Nasrid Palaces door inside that half hour, the Patronato’s wording is final: you lose the right to visit that space. No re-entry, no rebooking, no refund. The rest of your ticket still works — you have simply lost the courtyards everyone comes for.

Tickets including the Nasrid Palaces must be bought or collected at least an hour before the slot. The much-repeated “arrive 45 minutes early” figure is not an official one.

Prices

  • General daytime — €22.27. Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces and Generalife. Everything.
  • Gardens and Generalife — €12.73. No Nasrid Palaces, and you cannot upgrade on the day.
  • Night Nasrid Palaces €12.73 · night gardens €8.48 · Alhambra Experiences €22.27 · Dobla de Oro €30.48.

It was €19.09 as recently as early 2025. Any guide quoting €14, €18 or €19.09 is stale.

Nominative, and the ID must be original

Tickets are personal and non-transferable, and you must present an original passport or national ID card. Photocopies and photographs of documents are refused. Names can be changed only up to the day before, and only for groups on a sliding scale.

How to actually get one

Tickets release in tranches: roughly 36% twelve months ahead, 22% at three months, 12% at one month. And same-day tickets do exist — the ticket offices sell remaining places for that day, up to two hours before the Nasrid slot. Purchases are capped at ten tickets per person per month.

The Patronato names tickets.alhambra-patronato.es as its only official and guaranteed channel. It does not publish a formal scam advisory, but Spain’s consumer body OCU reported four sites in February 2025 for using the word “official” while bundling guide services to charge almost triple.

Open 08:30–18:00 in winter and to 20:00 from April, daily, closed only 25 December and 1 January. No daily visitor cap is published.
