Decide about the summit before you buy. The Eiffel Tower says it plainly: “For those with a ticket to the second floor, it is not possible to purchase a supplement to the top on site.” There is no upgrade counter upstairs. Under-buy and you go back down and start again at full price.

Under-4s go free. Climbing saves €8.70 either way — 674 steps to the second floor. If you want the summit and do not mind the stairs to level two, €28.00 buys the same view as €36.70.
Booking
- Timed slots, online 60 days ahead for lifts, 30 days for stairs. Maximum nine tickets per order.
- Summit e-tickets go first. Peak weekends and July to August sell out.
- The on-site ticket offices sometimes have stock when the website shows sold out. Worth a walk-up if you are already nearby.
- From 29 September 2026, stair visits also require an advance reservation.
Two things people get wrong
The Paris Museum Pass does not cover the Eiffel Tower. It never has — the tower is run by a separate operator.
Most of the sites ranking for “Eiffel Tower tickets” are not the Eiffel Tower. Only toureiffel.paris and ticket.toureiffel.paris are official. One widely-cited guide still lists the summit at €29; the real figure is €36.70.
