MoMA’s free Friday evenings still run, 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Two conditions decide whether they apply to you.
- New York State residents only, with proof of residency.
- You must still reserve in advance. Free does not mean walk-up, and slots are subject to availability.
Everyone else can visit in that window at the normal price — Friday is MoMA’s only late night, closing at 8.30pm rather than 5.30pm.
Prices
- Adult $30. Senior 65+ $22. Student with valid ID $17.
- Children 16 and under free, but the ticket must be reserved alongside a paid adult one.
- Visitor with a disability $22, care partner free.
No booking fee and no dynamic pricing. Tickets are date-specific but not time-slotted — you pick a day, not an hour. Advance purchase is required to guarantee entry, so walk-up is possible but not promised.
MoMA PS1 is a different, free thing
PS1 in Queens is free for everyone, every day. Your Manhattan ticket does not cover it and does not need to. Nothing to pay either way.
MoMA opens 10.30am to 5.30pm, Fridays to 8.30pm. Galleries close about 15 minutes before the museum. Closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Tickets cannot be transferred, refunded or exchanged.
