Wawel is not one ticket. It is about a dozen separately priced exhibitions, and the building most visitors picture when they say “Wawel” is not run by the castle at all.
Wawel Cathedral is a different organisation
The cathedral, the Sigismund Bell and the Royal Tombs belong to the cathedral chapter, with their own ticketing and their own hours — Monday to Saturday 09:00–16:30, Sundays from 12:30. No castle ticket admits you. The chapter does not publish its price on its own visiting page, so we cannot quote one.
The castle exhibitions
- Castle, first and second floors — 95 PLN. Either floor alone, 57 PLN.
- Crown Treasury — 47 PLN. Armoury — 47 PLN. Castle Cellars — 47 PLN.
- Seeking the Dragon — 35 PLN. Observation Tower — 19 PLN. Dragon’s Den — 15 PLN.
- Royal Gardens — 11 PLN, or free with any other route ticket.
- Combined “Wawel for enthusiasts” — 199 PLN, covering all available castle exhibitions. Valid only on the day at Wawel itself.
The 95 PLN two-floor ticket is not an all-Wawel ticket. The Treasury and Armoury are extra on top of it.
Free Mondays, with conditions
Selected exhibitions are free on Mondays, 10:00 to 16:00 only, and the selection rotates — the Castle Cellars from July to September, the Castle second floor and Crown Treasury from October to December. Free Monday tickets cannot be reserved online: ticket office only, on the day, until the allocation runs out, and unguided visiting only.
Online tickets are released about a month ahead. Daily and hourly entry limits apply, though the castle does not publish the numbers. The audio guide is 14 PLN but is included with the castle, cellars and Międzymurze tickets. Photography is allowed without flash, tripod or selfie stick.
One warning: the castle’s own otwarcie-zamku page is a stale 2021 archive still showing 2021 prices. Use the exhibitions pages.
