The Orangerie is one of the few Paris museums where buying at the door is cheaper: €11.00 on site against €12.50 online. And the reduced €8.50 rate is only sold at the museum, so anyone entitled to a discount should never book ahead.
That is the reverse of nearly everywhere else in the city, and it is worth knowing before you click.
What each option costs
- Adult: €11.00 at the museum, €12.50 online.
- Reduced: €8.50, on site only.
- Friday late opening: €8.50 from 6pm during exhibition seasons.
- Combined with the Musée d’Orsay: €20.00 — a real saving if you are doing both.
- Free: under-18s, EU and EEA citizens aged 18 to 25, disabled visitors and a companion, and Paris Museum Pass holders. Free first Sunday of the month, but that one does require a booked slot.
The closure day catches people out
The Orangerie closes on Tuesdays, not Mondays like much of Paris. One of the museum’s own pages says Monday; its admission page and its live homepage both say Tuesday, and Tuesday is correct.
Open 9am to 6pm, last admission 5.15pm, rooms close at 5.45pm. Also shut on 1 May, the morning of 14 July, and 25 December.
