Four euros a head is not nothing for a family, and the late slot is also the quieter one. The central tank is a better experience without a school group pressed against it. The building is fully enclosed, so unlike an outdoor attraction there is no light or weather argument for going early.
The temporary exhibition is included
The current show, Monstros Marinhos, is covered by the standard ticket — there is no surcharge and no separate queue. Check what is running for your dates, but the Oceanarium’s pattern is to bundle rather than upsell.
It opens on Mondays
Open every day of the year, Mondays included. That makes it the obvious answer to the Monday problem in Lisbon, where a lot of the museums shut. Allow two hours. It is out at Parque das Nações, on the red metro line to Oriente, about twenty minutes from the centre and nowhere near Belém — do not try to pair them in one afternoon.
