Palazzo Vecchio Tickets: Prices Rose 44% in February

Florence raised its civic museum prices on 1 February 2026, and Palazzo Vecchio took one of the sharpest rises in the city.

Reduced is €12 for the museum and €13 for the tower, covering ages 18 to 25 and university students. Under-18s of any nationality go free.

Worth knowing before you book: the city’s own booking portal still displays the old €12.50 prices. The Comune’s press release and its culture site both give the new figures. Expect to pay the new ones.

Three tickets, and they do not combine

There is no museum-plus-tower saver. Museum, tower and excavations are three separate purchases, so seeing all three costs €43.

The excavations are guided-visit only, weekends only, at noon and 12.45pm, maximum 15 people, reservation required.

Thursday is the day-wrecker

On Thursdays both the museum and the tower close at 2pm. Every other day they run 9am to 7pm, with the tower to 5pm. Last tickets go an hour before closing.

Two more tower rules: children under 6 are not admitted at all, and the tower closes in rain and during the city’s red-alert heat warnings — relevant in August, and there is no refund for a rained-off slot. Buy the tower on a clear morning rather than far in advance.

One last thing that catches visitors: the free first Sunday scheme does not apply here. These are civic museums, not state ones, so first-Sunday free entry is for residents only.
